When I think of Mary McCracken, I remember Sister Mathis. She was my 6 grade teacher at BSS. I remember her trying to convince the priest to allow girls to be altar servers. Many afternoons Sister Mathis and Fr. Keane would take us to Daffin Park ,the girls with Sr. Mathis played softball, the boys and Fr. Keane played football and soccer. Sr. Mathis dressed in old habit would run the bases. We had a great time. Mary was ahead of her time and we loved her.
- Barbara Weimar Peterson, , GA
Mary was a caring and loving person, which is not only evident in the many organizations and causes that she supported, but also the kindness she constantly exhibited toward her neighbors, friends, and family. Also, Mary's willingness and courage to stand up for social issues that she strongly believed in is universally respected and will be remembered by all that knew her.
- The Marcus Family, Toledo, OH
Tybee lost a very fine lady when we lost Mary.
- Anne Miller, Tybee Island, GA
Mary was supportive, compassionate and funny always. She had a great attitude about life and taught me much about love and acceptance through her actions and devotion to family. I will miss her presence at St. Michael's and Tybee Terrace. I am offering a Mass for her eternal soul.

For we are always confident, knowing that while we are at home in the body we are absent from the Lord. For we walk by faith not by sight. We are confident, yes, well pleased rather to be absent from the body and to be present with the Lord. 2 Corinthians 5:6-8 Our love and prayers are with you.
